"Green building" covers more ground than solar panels and rooftop gardens. It can mean the material itself, like the mass-engineered timber next to you, which locks away carbon instead of releasing it during production. It can mean designing spaces that serve more than one purpose, like Kampung Admiralty combining eldercare, hawker food, and community gardening in one building. Or it can mean simply designing for shade and airflow so a building needs less mechanical cooling in the first place.
There's no single template, just a growing set of choices designers can combine depending on what a building, and its community, actually needs.
