NTU campus remains a home to diverse fauna and flora

The NTU campus biodiversity is rich!

The NTU Campus is surrounded by lush greenery and large amounts of green spaces. It has been home for hundreds of species documented by students and visitors.

Buildings and infrastructure can unintentionally harm biodiversity

For example, NTU’s Art, Design & Media Building’s reflective glass façade reduces heat gain, improves natural lighting, and lowers electricity use. But the same design also increased bird collisions. Hence, Project Avigate was born.

NTU’s Project Avigate showed that meaningful change did not come from one person or one discipline alone

Students documented bird collisions, while researchers analysed patterns and designers visualised data. Stories were also shared by nature guides, and volunteers advocated for solutions.
